 Abstract:  The collection consists of correspondence, affadadvits, and receipts of Siegfried Fritz Loewenthal, concerning his attempts to bring his relatives out of Nazi-occupied countries to the United States, Ecuador, Brazil, and Uruguay. One noted correspondent is Jacob Rosenheim, president of Agudas Israel World Organization.

 Abstract:  Rabbi Victor Vorhand served as head of Vaad Hatzala at the Czechoslovakia branch from 1946 and director of the Austrian branch from January 1949 to November 1949. He oversaw all immigration activities and religious operations. The collection contains a tape recording of an interview with Rabbi Victor Vorhand, together with photocopies of his correspondence and documents pertaining to Vaad Hatzala and the Rescue Children, Inc.

 Abstract:  Kate Diamant Caro was a German-born Jewish activist. She and her family survived the Holocaust by hiding in Belgium. Mrs. Caro's brother Maurice Diamant was active in Rescue Children, Inc. operations in Belgium in 1946. Mrs. Caro brought Charles Caro (no relation) and Irene Gutman to New York in 1947 for a Busy Buddies fundraising luncheon (coordinated by affluent American women to assist the orphans) and helped arrange for their adoptions by American families. The collection contains a tape recording and transcript of the interview with Mrs. Caro.

The tape narrates their rescue and fundraising activities with Vaad Hatzala and Rescue Children, Inc.
